YeloMonki Equity-Novel Pricing

Hi, YeloMonki Works here.

I wanted to take a few seconds to express how I have been confused and unsatisfied with all the information available to me when it comes to the pricing of my original creations throughout the years.  I have engaged with the instructions of websites, gallery owners and professional artists.  To my dismay, this has all left me feeling confused, queasy and actually, misrepresented.

So, after years of experimenting, I have developed a new system of pricing my original pieces that leaves me feeling free of such mentioned past feelings and now has me feeling pride and comfort in my commercial endeavors as an creator.

I give this new system a name.

              YeloMonki Equity-Novel Pricing

Here are some definitions explaining My new pricing name.

*Equitable Means fair and just, and can be used in a context referring to the just implementation of a new rule or system.

*Novel Means new and original.  While not directly meaning "fair," novelty can sometime be associated with impartiality if an old, biased system is replace by a novel one.

Here are the factors, rules and implementations of this new system.

Because I am not a multi-million dollar seller...

Because I am not in high demand....

Because I did not attend a higher institution of art learning...

Because I paint from my heart, my mind and my eye...

Because I have had little notoriety, but not absent from it...

Because people who buy my paintings love them...

Because I love the joy that my pieces bring to others.

Because the $ situation for all of us in this country sucks really  hard right now....

And, because I love to paint more than anything else in this world and I tend to produce a lot of pieces on a regular basis, considering they are predominantly oil pieces.

Width x Hr. Wage + supplies = Price of painting

I multiple the Width of painting by inches multiplied by my Hourly Wage ($15 and hour, which is under the current  U.S. $25 Living Wage)

If a painting is reasonable in width and larger than usual in height, say 6in x 25 in, instead of 6in x 10in, I will add an extra 2 inches or so to the width total to make up for the cost.

I am a business with an EIN number, therefore a lot of the supplies I obtain with wholesale prices and I use a lot of repurposed wood or metal to paint on. Therefore, I do not add a lot to the supply price of painting.  Maybe a couple dollars.  That's all.

I hope you have enjoyed this entry.  I have adjusted all of my prices on my website and on Fine Art America accordingly.  I will keep you, the viewers up to date on how this endeavor suits me as time passes. Maybe, it will inspire you to take a good look at your creations, your selling and your feelings.
