Yellow Gray grew up obsessed with international cultures, paintings, animals, plants and decor. She spent many of her formative school years slipping away from class to spend many hours in the library reading about and memmorizing pictures of such things.

In her home life, all the relationships were broken and she didnt trust anyone. So, to make herself feel safe she would change the funiture, wall decor and plants to mimic interiors of homes from different cultures and listen to traditional music on LP's from around the world. Her passions are people, animals, plants, painting, ceramics, music, and textiles.

Although she has traveled for many years around the United States, she has only traveled out of the country once.  She traveled solo to study the iconography inside the back-strap loom weaving of the Ke'che Maya in Cehcum, Guatemala. While there, she taught painting classes to the community at night.

She still dreams of going to all of these foreign places and painting what she discovers.  Until then, she has the internet, cinema, public spaces and still, the library.
