Yellow Gray’s Art Timeline
1987 - Participation in The Mattress Factory Art Exposition (located within the Cabbagetown Mill). Installation entitled: "The Power Of Mask Media", Atlanta, Georgia.
1993 - Exhibit at the Art of the Century Show hosted by The Rebecca Shipley Gallery and conducted by Sylvia Cross. Featured work: "Exquisite Corpse" - A collaborative effort involving 20 artists, Atlanta, Georgia.
1996 - First published photograph in the "Best of Atlanta" by Creative Loafing. Title: "Glorious Foot Soldier" from the Gay and Lesbian Festival, 1996.
1989-2003 - Developed visual materials for local bands in Atlanta, Georgia, encompassing posters, flyers, album covers, invitation cards, and assorted merchandise.
2004-2008 - Pursued academic studies at Harry S. Truman College, DePaul University, and Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois. Fields of study included Sociocultural Anthropology, Sociolinguistics, African History, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Ceramics, and Art History.
2008 - Engaged in the study of culture and iconography through back-strap-loom weaving in Checam, Guatemala, while also conducting painting classes for the local community during evening hours.
2009 - Participated in The Artists of the Wall Festival. Located along the Lake front at Loyola Park Beach in Chicago[s Rogers Park, between Farwell and Morse Ave. (and sometimes Pratt). A 30 year old community Tradition.
2020 - Formal establishment of YeloMonki Works with the objective of selling paintings to the public.
2022 - Two paintings from YeloMonki Works were incorporated into the permanent collection of the Reed Art Gallery at Presque Isle, University of Maine. Titles include: "A Conversation" and "Tend To My Garden Now…Old White Man".
2023 - CSIRI.org (Computer Social Impact Research Institute) recognized YeloMonki Works as their featured artist for the months of January and February.
2024 - Featured four paintings in the inaugural exhibition of The East Hive Community Gallery, Tucson, Arizona.
2025 - Assumed the role of Volunteer Painting and Sculpture Teacher at The Armory Park Senior Center, Tucson, Arizona.
